I agree with everyone else here. It's not hopeless yet, as it's not finished. Every quilt needs at least one "zinger" fabric to not look "flat", and often it's simply something that just doesn't match well. I hope you are able to post pics--we're all so curious now!

I'm curious to see your "blah" quilt. The first thing that also came to my mind before I read the other suggestions, was applique or embroidery. Or maybe tickertape pops of color on it. Monochromatic is very popular with some people.

Hey how about a beautiful applique and a vine over the quilt..? Think of the blah blocks as background and put little sayings on it...or your name...
Every quilt has a reason... finish up what you want to do with it and give it away to someone who will love it..

I did the samething in green tan and brown!!!
Then I found a wildlife panel that I can cut in section and use as main focus on my quilt It should look pretty good :-).
Hope this idea can save your quilt too.
