My darning foot jiggles the screw set which holds the needle and the needle eventually falls out. I correct this with a real screwdriver (not the little aluminum cutout that came with my Janome) and I tighten the needle screw. No more problems.

I used to have difficulty with the quilt rubbing against the control panel window and thus changing the settings mid-flight. I now quilt with a machine that doesn't have all the bits - just a plain, mechanical machine with a wide throat. I do the best quilting I have ever achieved on the mechanical machine.

I've had feet come loose , and needles too. I guess I just can't get enough oomph behind the small screwdrivers that come with the machine. So, I bought a "stubby" screwdriver - from the hardware store, and it works a lot better for me because I can hold the larger handle better.
