Since mine is scrappylouisa it would have to be scrappy. For right now I have changed my avatar to a scrappy doll quilt I made for the Doll quilt swap.

no names are boring. :) if you, like me, used your real name, then our blocks can depict who we are - through fabric and design. someone posted that star blocks are her favorite -- then a star block would be a perfect pattern for a block to represent her name and who she is. I'm thinking about a block with the word "Joy" on it -- the first letter of my name -- and a very important word to me in my faith. Or -- I might do a block that communicates "joy" rather than spelling it.
Thanks, Judy! Well, my block would no doubt have to be a shamrock then. I've wanted to try the bias tape Celtic knots, so maybe that. But this would be one more excuse not to tackle all the projects I have planned, but not started. I think I'm chicken.
    That's it!! A chicken!!!
So, about an hour after I posted this, I was leafing through an old quilt magazine I bought from Scissor Queen, and there was this really cute chicken block. I think that's it! Maybe I'll put a clover in her beak.

I would have use a picture of my favorite daylily than I have a picture I could trace to make the pattern for appliqué but I don't think I could ever find the right color fabric. The color of this daylily is a deep dark black-red with diamond dusting on it. It is called MIDNIGHT MAGIC hybridized by J. Kinnebrew over near the Kennedy Space Center.

Ok Ya'll I just realized that a swap would be wayyyyyy out of my league. Also PatriciaJ just PM'd & asked that we not do a swap. She feels that this idea is a good one but let's do it just for fun.
I'm thinking let's make a block however we want whatever size we want & start posting our pictures!!!! Do we want to post 'em here or do we want to start another thread????
