the quilt is beautiful and will be loved . . and afterall - is that not the real reason you made it? The onlyo ne who can even SEE the backwards strip is you - leave it alone and rememvber the love - figure itis your unique twist on that one !

Congratulations on finishing a quilt in spite of being a perfectionist.
My sister is a perfectionist and has never finished the quilt she made. She does help her friends do theirs so does know how.
I've made hundreds and can recite the flaws but no one has ever noticed except me!

I don't think your nephew is going to critique your quilt. They are very happy looking quilts.
I use to be a perfectionist until my eyes started bothering me a lot. Now I only unrip a seam when it is absolutely necessary because the strain of trying to unstitching hurts my eyes. I find that I enjoy quilting a lot more because I've become more relaxed about my work. I hope that you will be able to do the same.
Another thing to consider...you want one of the quilts to be a little different so that they can tell who's quilt belongs to who.

As said on Fons & Porter.....the baby won't care!!
I did something like that on a wall hanging and didn't notice I turned a geese unit the other way on a star block (very small pieces). It's hanging in my living room and not one person has ever noticed it. I don't either until I look closely.
It's ok.
