I have a quilt in my big floor frame for a charity quilt auction. My quilting friends come and help from time to time on that one. Have two smaller quilt tops to mark and hand quilt for a customer. My next big project is to go through my stash of little scraps and cut them into 5 in. and 2 in. squares and store them that way. I'm tired of boxes of pieces that I rarely do anything with that take up my precious space.

I'm impressed because I'm still working on Christmas 2010. I really overestimated my ability! My 3 friends from school each received a lovely bag of quilt squares from me at Christmas, along with a promise of a completed quilt asap. I have 2 done and 1 in process. I'm seeing them the end of this month, so I should be OK.
After that I've got batiks for a Winding Ways.

I find that working with lot of colors helps specialy in the cold winter time when I can't be out playing the dirt planting things for canning season

I started a pinwheel quilt in January. It is the pattern that is featured in the McCall Quilting Magazine for January/February 2011. I won't let myself start another project until this is completed, but I already have so many items I want to start. It is really hard to stick to one at a time. Especially when I am so sloooowwww!LOL!

For handwork I'm working on a hexagon art quilt, practicing or at least trying to practice on my new table longarm, and thinking about all the UFO in various stages of completion that are sitting on my cutting table at the moment.

I will be teaching two classes starting in March so I am working on the samples for them. The first is an attic window quilt. I posted a picture of the finished top on the board about a week ago. The second is made up of a block called Arrowhead. It looks complicated but I am making it by sewing two bordered squares and cutting them on the diagonal and sewing it together. So far so good.

I always need to catch up on baby quilts. My daughters are grown, but their friends, and the nieces and nephews all are very productive. Its good to have them in the closet, because we have two acres of grapevines and I don't get to quilt in the summer. I try to throw in a lap quilt every now and again for the ministry, but I also have a queen size for my own bed planned. I like to try a new pattern every time, and sometimes I just wing it by starting with a block in the middle and adding whatever is necessary to make it come out even.

It is fun to learn new techniques, try out new quilt blocks and just play play play!
Hello - I sure did try something new yesterday and today. Just used donated Project Linus fabrics but with some true quilting fabrics and a little planning, this pattern would really make a nice queen size (or larger) quilt. I might use a smaller block to begin with too. The block (which was mentioned on this Quilting Board someplace??) is called The Ten Minute Block by Suzanne McNeill. Here is a video link

Also attached is a picture of what my quilt top looks like. It will make a nice charity quilt for Project Linus.
