I am attempting my first Lil Twister quilt...I am working with the small one at the moment...when sewing your 5" squares together, do you sew all the same fabric in a row? Or, do you do random mix n match?

I lay it all out before sewing, what I like the best is to put a background color inbetween each of my other fabrics. To me it makes the twister pinwheels stand out featuring the fabric.
