A little frustrated!!!

So I started working on a memory quilt I am making for my sister's 50th bday. So far I've made two other memory quilts, two other sisters turned 50. I ordered the EQ printable fabric sheets, they are expensive, but there are 5 of us chipping in for the materials for the quilt. I scanned all the pictures, made sure each was 5" sq. Made sure the margins on the page were .2 for top, bottom, left, and right. I figured I would be able to get 2 pictures to a page. Double checked everything, even printed out a sample on regular paper. When that printed, I checked the top margin, which was 1/4 inch and the space between the two picture, which was 1/2 inch. So in theory, all should have worked out ok. Being a total dope, I didn't check the size of the pictures until after about the 8th page. The top one was 5 in sq., the bottom was 4.5" x 5". The printer cut 1/2 inch off the bottom picture. I am so ANGRY!!! Also, the printer ran out of ink, not totally printing one picture, then it did a self test, and the next picture ended up with horizontal lines. Out of 16 pictures, I can only use 6. Now I have to buy more fabric paper. UGH!!!!!

That really sounds like a frustrating experience. I don't trust anything related to my computer anymore! Hope you can salvage some of the printed stuff for something else, maybe a comic relief quilt! :? Can you piece any of the photos together at all! I have never used the expensive materials, just printed on fabric ironed to freezer paper. Didn't need them for posterity! :?

I've had more consistent results when I copy the pics into PowerPoint and resize them to the exact size I want. I also print them on paper first.
I buy my fabric sheets in bulk from Dick Blick Art Supplies http://www.dickblick.com/products/ja...et-fabric-kit/. They are a different brand, but I've been happy with them. My friend and I usually order together and buy the 30 packs and split the shipping.

Breath deeply, count to 10. Tomorrow is another day. You can't change it now. so just handle it, as I'm sure you handle other things life throws at you. I would have an hissy fit, and then let it go! The hissy fit always makes me feel better even if it doesn't change anything! LOL

I would throw a tantrum too   ....then call my brother and beg for help
I would suggest doing one page at a time. Put both pics on it, print a test page, print the fabric sheet. Then do the same thing on the next set of pictures. This way you should get what you are looking for...the way you did it. if you hit enter or anything that increased the spacing between the pics without realizing it, it would cut the bottom off

Much calmer today. When I stop work, I'm going to salvage the pictures I can and order more fabric. I'm going to get the bigger size, so hopefully I won't have anymore trouble!
Shemjo - I don't trust my printer! I thought about doing the freezer paper/fabric, but my printer would probably jam on the first one!
katier825 - thanks for the link!
Ninnie - yes, the hissy fit worked.
Beachlady, thanks. I'll post pictures when I'm done.
littlehud - that's the problem from learning from our mistakes - it is costly!
amma - I would love to call one of my sisters or brother for help, but they have no interest in quilting!!!!
Klue -thanks, will keep that in mind.
