I work in a Lab and I know for sure how to get blood out of cloth. Start with a little bit of salt water, 1 teaspoon of salt per cup of water. Let that soak in and try again, blot DO NOT RUB, the spot and the blood will start to lift off - keep this up until the spot gets as light as it will get. Then use hydrogen peroxide. Pour this on the spot. The spot will bubble - repeat as needed and the spot will disappear completely. If you use bleach there is a chance the spot will turn brown and stay that way -- for ever.

I keep a bottle of peroxide near my sewing machine and use it on blood spots. Doesn't hurt the material.

Hydrogen peroxide works like a charm----the kind that bubbles that you use on cuts.

Put salt on it and dampen spot. Worked for me. Like a miracle.

YES it works! Take a strand of cotton thread 20" long or so. Gather into little wad and place in mouth. Allow to become wet with your saliva. Place on blood spot on quilt, make sure there is good contact. Allow to remain for several minutes. The spot should be gone. Reapply if needed.
For anyone who thinks this is 'gross,' how much more gross is leaving blood on the quilt?

I've heard about the saliva solution for a long time but have never tried it. I've also heard to dab some peroxide on it. Hope that helps.
