Jordan Fabrics also cuts the fabric for you. Matt Jordan hand cuts all (not cut by machine). I have heard very good things about the fabrics he cuts. I have not purchased any. But watch all their YouTube's. Great tutorials. Easy to see what Donna Jordan is doing, understand how she puts it together. Etc. etc. So if you want your log cabin quilt already cut and all you have to do is start sewing, check out Jordan Fabrics.

Judy Martin has a couple great log cabin block quilt books. She always cuts her strips to the correct size before adding each log. One of her books even comes with a ( log Ruler) . I have a few of Judy’s books, I love her patterns and process

No matter which method you use, it makes sense not to cut up the chimneys and first logs until they are sewn together if you are using the same fabric for all blocks.

Marti Michel has two rulers that work well for pre-cutting your strips. You use whichever ruler based on the width of the strips you want to use. She also has a Craftsy class that goes into good detail on pre cutting all your strips for efficiency -speed of cutting all strips and also chain piecing the blocks. The class also shows a number of different settings and how to get a variety of effects using different cutting widths within blocks- like those “curved” settings that are popular now.

I have several of Eleanor Burns books, I love making her Log Cabin Blocks, I have the Studio and use that to cut my blocks, so much easier
