I have an Avante that I bought at Christmastime from a dealer in N. Carolina. It was her floor model. I had some issues getting the computer to work, so she told me to call the HQ headquarters, which I did. They were wonderful. The head engineer talked me through the whole thing, and I am just thrilled. HQ is one of the few, if not maybe the only, made in America, longarm. It is made in Salt Lake City. I have quilted 32 quilts since January on it. I feel I made the best decision to go with Handi Quilter, and I hope you feel the same way.

That is fantastic! Good for you.
There is a yahoo group that is for HQ sit down quilting that is so good, although they have all kinds of owners in the group. I've only been on that group a couple months but they have all been very helpful with just about anything. I found them when I had tension issues ( my own goofs) and have learned lots. So far, my baby has taken on the challenge of any thread I throw at her without even a blink of her eyes. She never complains.
