The machine he is working on appears to have never been oiled and shows a lot of use but very little wear. They are also very easy to maintain. I have a "Featherweight" and love her but I also have my mother's Singer treadle gone electric machine in a cabinet. I just looked up the serial number on the Singer site and it/she was "allotted" on July 15, 1941 and is in the machine class of "15". There were 35,000 made or "allotted" that day. Does anyone know where I can find out more about the "15"? I would like to find a book on how to care for her?
