I will be your friend in Fl. I think you will find that the majority of the people one here will be your friends even though we cannot be there with you, The folks here are great.

I am in San Antonio, TX so too far away to get together but I would love to be a cyber buddy. I too am 62 and 5 years ago moved here to be closer to our kids and have not met any quilting friends. Would love to meet someone to go to lunch with and get together and quilt with so if anyone out there is from San Antonio and wants a friend, please pm me.

I'm in Jessamine County. We've got 3 quilt stores in Fayette County - one in Hamburg shopping center (exit 108), one off Nicholasville Road, and my favorite on Harrodsburg Road near the Jessamine County Line. The other two are only about 15 - 20 minutes off the interstate. I can give more precise directions if you want. I just finished my degree at EKU, so I'm quite familiar with driving back and forth from the Richmond area.

EDITED: Just realized you said the drive to Lex was a bit much. I work in Lex (even though I live in Jessamine County) and with having driven 2 - 4 times a week to EKU for nearly 2 years, I forgot how much of a drive it is if you're not doing it on a regular basis for something. Welcome anyway. Where is the store you're familiar with? I didn't realize there was one in Madison County.

Do you take 75 south? Do you work or are you retired like I am?

You can take 75 south then 16 east and it runs just south of where I live. I don't work and I'm not quite retired. I am a SAHM. My baby is 20 months old. That is her in my avatar.
    :-D :D :D
