well actually i'm just looking for bug patterns. i saw a paper pieced bug quilt a long time ago and never could find a pattern. i can find butterflies of course but i would like a lot of different kinds of insects. anybody have any sources?
i have found bug jar quilts but the bugs are on the fabric.
    thanks for any help.

I think Quiltmaker had the pattern in their mag several yrs ago, called Just Bugs. It maybe available now on line. The bugs were appliqued and set on point. I made one and it came out really cute! It was a square within a square and not all my points were pointed.

I dont know if this helps or not but I did a Halloween quilt a few years ago and I wanted Halloween Applique, that was before I owned an embroidery machine and could make my own designs. So here is what I did. I went online and found free coloring pages. I printed them off a few times each and traced around each piece adding the 1/4 inch seam allowance and used my computer to increase the size of each piece I wanted to do to make them larger. I then cut out my pieces and used them as my template and it turned out wonderful.

You might look up some pictures or coloring pages of different bugs and do the same thing.

http://www.quiltmaker.com/patterns/patt100/ I think this was pasted before, it is awfully cute. My son and daugh-in-law are going to have a baby and she is nuts about whimsical bugs. Thanks for asking for bugs
