Hello. I'm new to the "board" and I am looking for Hawaiian quilt patterns. Our kids are all over the world now and I have an idea that each year I will present one of them (in chronological order) with a Hawaiian quilt wall hanging (framed vs hanging). Our oldest loves to surf and we are from the Big Island. I have designed a great one for our third child (it came in a dream if you can believe it), but I am at a loss for our oldest. Nothing is falling into place so I thought if you had ideas, I could get past this block! Mahalo nui!

Welcome to the board from Washington state. I have a book called "Hawaiian Quilt Art" that I had posted for sale a while back and nobody bought. I'm attaching a picture of the front page of the book. If you are interested in it, I was asking $5 plus postage. This may or may not be what you are looking for.

Thanks so much for the quick reply! I actually have a couple of books by Ms. Root and enjoy her style. I am looking for a more specialized design/idea that would relate to surfing, the ocean, et al. But thanks!

I would LOVE to have your book if you still want to sell it. Just pm me if it's still available and I'll pm you my address. I don't have a paypal account, would you prefer money order or will a personal check do?

Since he's into surfing, why not do a surf board. If you have pictures of special places that he liked or of him surfing, put them on the board, maybe with different saying and such. Maybe you can find fabric with different boards on it to incorporate.
