Thank you everyone. A good example of taking a village to find the solution to my question. It does look like the Star Struck or Exploding Star with some creative changes and flying geese sashing and more. Bet I can figure it out from here. I need lots of background fabric and a good dive into my stash for dark and medium colors to construct the HSTs.
    .((((( Huggs))))) to all.

FYI, I found and bought the book with the Exploding Star pattern for $7.00 including the shipping on line. It was from 1997 and has several other patterns that I will likely use, "Scrap Quilting Made Easy". Worth the $7 and much easier to use than fussing with trying to draw out and recreating the pattern on graph paper.

The original pattern starts with 2.5" squares and makes a 45.5 square quilt but I am going to make the squares larger thus making a bed sized quilt rather than a throw or wall hanging size. Much more like the original photo in the screen short. Happy with my small investment and will dive into this beauty this fall and winter.

MaryKa Sorry I can't help with a specific name. This looks like a simple dresden pattern with different coloured points and a hexagon for the middle. Could be made by machine as well as hand stitching.

Mary, you might get more responses if you started your won thread instead of hijacking this one.
