This book has many variations of the patterns that many people have searched for you. I would share if you are interested. As I am sure it is out of print.

Look up: Square Dance by Martha Thompson 1995
I found the very book I own. It ranges in price
from 11.00 to 180.00 (for a used book!!!) I have
a real treasure! Maybe I should sell mine, I could buy a yard or two of fabric.... Ha, Ha.........
Actually, I made a quilt out of this book. It was fun, but I was dissapointed on the fabric wasted.

You make the split 9 patch and turn all the darks to the center then you surround that with more split 9 patches and turn those with the darks to make the "sashing". It uses very large blocks comprised of 16 split 9 patch blocks. The first 4 in the center with the darks turned to the center and the remaining 12 blocks are all arranged around the center and turned to form a ring.
