    What's your favorite quilt block pattern using plaids? Want to make a masculine quilt for my brother.

    i like how churn dash looks in plaids, two-color square. i have also done square in a square. that looked good too.

    I made large star blocks using plaids, checks and stripes.
    cant' find a better pic. here is the quilt with our cat we used to have.

    If you go to "search", then choose "advanced" and select pictures, you'll see some awesome homespun quilts. Do it twice - one time with "homespun" in the search and once adding the "s" so it's "homespuns," as you'll get different results.

    I'm still collecting my homespuns, but someday will have a scrappy homespun quilt. Still trying to figure out if I should wash them ahead of time or not. Don't generally wash my fabrics, but am concerned with the loose weave that, if I don't, when the finished quilt is washed it will shrink in odd ways...
