I'm new at trying purses and bags, usually stick to quilting. I made a tote this weekend and it prompted my daughter who rarely wants anything hand made to mention she'd like a small purse with a strap long enough to go across her chest and over shoulder (so she doesn't have to hold on to it). Anyone know of a tutorial or pattern sounding like that. Wants it small like to hold wallet, keys and cell phone.

    Thanks in advance.

http://www.lazygirldesigns.com/produ...ses_Bags/c50pg Look at the Runaround purse. It is easy to make.

The one that says fully lined front zippered pouch is like the Runaround. Just make it longer with longer straps I made one for traveling, and it was wonderful.

I have a ton of purse tutorial links on my personal web site - far too many for me to list here..
What she is looking for is a messenger bag style. Maybe she will find one that she likes there. I have it set up to preview the pages that the links go to so that you don't have to open up ones you know you won't like ;)

I have made the Heart of Mary messenger bag and it's very nice and easy to make... and looks fabulous when you are done.
