Looking for a purse/bag pattern
I have never made a bag/purse and am still new to sewing. I fell in love with some fabric at a LQS, and just now had the thought that it would make a great bag. Now I am hunting for a pattern!
There is an overwhelming number of patterns to search through out there, finding the right one seems a bit like the proverbial needle in a haystack. So, I thought I would ask you guys since y'all have probably seen them all!
I am not sure if I would keep it or give it to my mom, but either way... I need a pattern for a bag that has a pouch on the outside for a phone. That is pretty much the only requirement other than it being good for a first-timer.
Thanks so much guys!

Check out the tutorial section on here. I posted a tutorial of the bag/purse I made for my mom. I free-motion quilted mine, but you can quilt yours any way you want. You can search with my name or "Quilted Bag/Purse for my Mom (with tute!)"
I think right now it's on page 2 of the Tutorials.

It's not a free pattern, but I love making the Mini Bow Tuck purse. It is so easy, but looks really looks nice. You can make it casual or dressy by the fabrics you use. My DD (18) likes it and so does my DM (75) and everybody in between. I've made it with college football fabrics, casual fabrics and elegant fabrics. They all turned out so nice. You can do a search on here for them. Lots of people have posted pictures of the ones they have made.

The bow tuck I agree is easy. I have made a few. The one I liked was for a friend to give as a birthday present to a doctor. It was black and white outside with red inside. She loved it asit wouldgowith so much
