Has anyone been to a lecture or class on color choices for quilting?
We're looking for someone to come and talk at our guild about color value and how to choose the right fabrics that will complement each other.
I'd appreciate any names/locations of instructors for this topic.
    Thanks!

Maybe you could call other guild's in the area and ask them?

My suggestion would be to call the art department at the local or close university or college. I would think that an art teacher could talk to the group, regardless of if they quilt or not. I know it's the same principle with quilting that I use in scrapbooking....use of a color wheel, etc.

Dodi Lee Poulson from Two Sisters at Squirrel Hollow gave a talk at Sew Expo in Puyallup earlier this year about selecting colors for a quilt.

Only thing I saw was last week someone posted on the board a color scheme designer, might want to take a look at it.

The Quilting Connection in Ames had a class on this and the instructor was very good and we learned a lot. Give them a jingle and I am sure they can help you.

Went to a lecture at a quilt show, by Joen Wolfrom ( yes, that's how she spells her name). She gave a wonderful talk and presentation on color and fabrics. I learned a lot from her.

Thanks! We'll look into this. I'm assuming that instructor would be close enough to home. :)

Hi--Joen Wolfram came to San Francisco Bay Area. She gave a lecture to the East Bay Heritage Quilter's Guild and offered two classes on designing/working/playing with color. She's amazing. Not sure about her travel schedule (she lives in Washington state) but she's got an internet presence.
