    All right BJ! This sounds like it would work. Lots of helpful suggestions. Thanks all!

    MS Word / table/ columns / rows works...as would MS Excel.

    Start a new Word document
    From the Menu Bar select Table
    Table => Insert Table => Table Size (number of rows & columns)

    The new table appears as a grid

    Select the cell(s) you want to fill with color (i.e. format).

    From the Menu Bar select Format
    Format =>Borders and Shading
    Click on the Shading tab; several colors appear.

    Select whichever appeals and click OK.

    If you want more color options(nearly infinite number), return to the Shading tab and click on the "More Colors" button located below and to the right of the color grid.

    Select the color you want, click OK and that takes you back to your table.

    "Repeat as necessary".

    ENJOY! (that's not on the Menu bar... ):lol:

    I appreciate those instructions MCH. I printed them out so I can refer to them easily. That was really helpful info. :)
