If you don't have two scraps left to leave in a dark closet, ebay's a good source (as others have suggested). When I started out and was building my stash I purchased several lots of fabric that were mostly fat quarters and smaller and was able to quickly build up plenty to use for scrappy projects. I did end up having to wash most of them, as quite a few smelled either of cigarette smoke or heavy perfume.
