    For nylon thread, it's important to reduce your upper tension because nylon is stretchy. Also, when you fill the bobbin, go slowly so you do not stretch the monofilament on the bobbin. Also, especially if you have a plastic bobbin, fill the bobbin only 3/4ths full; otherwise you may be putting enough thread on the bobbin to distort the bobbin's shape.

    You really do not want to use a thicker nylong thread as it will be like fishing line in the quilt! However, you may find it easier to switch to a polyester invisible thread. These are thicker than nylon monofilament but can be easier to use.

    Aside from using the thread net, I think the real key to using invisible thread is to purchase 100% polyester rather than nylon. At least that was the saving grace for me.

    I had this same problem until I taped (painters tape) a safety pin on the back right side of my machine, put the
    thread spool in a small glass or cup behind the machine and thread the spool first thru the little circle part of the
    pin, then thread thru the machine in the normal way. This worked for me. I can't find the polyester clear thread,
    anyone know where to get that online?

    I bought mine at a LQS. What I've got is SULKY, 100% polyester, spool of 2200 yards (2000 m.) I paid about $10 at the LQS, but I'm guessing JoAnn's would be a bit cheaper, specially with a coupon.

    Note on spool label says to use t 75-90 top stitch needle.

    I put my spool of thread on my cone holder also. I had the same problem with the sewing machine holder that was horizontal. As soon as I put it vertical no more problems.

    Jo ann's now carries poly invisable look near the emrboidery threads. Its a Sulky product.
