I saw this go by on my google reader in the past few days, but just cannot find it again! It was a pincushion, pretty large, made from a dozen or so hexes - it is NOT the one by A Stitch in Dye - hers is shaped like a hexagon. The one I"m looking for is shaped like a pumpkin, with 6 strands of embroidery floss used to divide it into sections. Does anyone remember seeing this? Thanks!

Is there any more info about the pincushion? Was it blogged about? From what I know about reader, it shows what is new on the blogs you have listed right?

I found it. When I originally asked the question, I was on my computer at work, and had promised a gal I'd send her the link. Now I'm on my computer at home, and I DID go back through my history. Here's the link to a great tutorial for making a pincushion with hexagons:
