have a question. today i saw a sewing machine at a thrieft store. it was in a little cabnet like the bigger ones. it has a singer serial number that started with a K with 6 numbers starting with 76. i know i should have written it down. looked at singer numbers said made in 1903 and was a 44. not any bigger then a FW. but it did not have singer on the arm it started with AL something but the oval badge above the serial # said premium. it was not the shinny black but more like a rough dark gray. what do you think i was looking at
it may have said ALPINE or something like that

Thanks for the PM Crafty your the greatest! Did you take photos of the machine? I wish you had the full serial number for me to look at and to see what it was your looking at. Go to this site and see if you can find something that it looks like.

i looked at the pics and the one just above the #15 looks very much like it. it did not say singer on the arm. the name started with Al. it was not black, it was like a gun barrel gray. kind of a bluish gray and matt finish. it was a little bigger then my FW and a little smaller then my 403. it was in a odd looking cabnet. the foldout parts were like one folded out to the left and it had a two fold on the right of the wheel. never saw a cabnet like it before. if i get to go back and it is still there i will take a pic with my phone and hope it comes out good enough to tell what it is. it was so cute i wanted to take it home but they wanted too much for me to pay. thanks for responding. it did look like it was very old but it had been well taken care of.
