I use Coats all the time with no problems. Absolutely a preference.

I would suggest that you visit SUPERIOR THREADS. Look for their cd Theadology..it used to be free. They have a great video that tells about threads. 30 weight? Is that normal weight for long arm? Seems heavy for FMQ.....I use aurifil and isacord....low lint threads for FMQ on DM. I also use a 90/14 topstitch needle. Best wishes.

I forgot to ask...exactly was is the problem...you only mentioned difference. I think your quilt is very pretty!
Linen will shrink more than cotton, especially if you did not preshrink. Let us know what you think the problem is.

I have never had a problem with C & C thread; I used it in my treadle machine as well as my others.

I continue to use up my C & C on my Bernina occasionally and have found no difference. Your modern quilt is very pretty.

I think different machines just act different with the various threads. C&C works fine on my Viking for piecing, but shreds when I actually quilt with it. And yes it could also be operator error! I do find it difficult to find any weight reference on spools. How do you know the weight of the thread?
