You are very fortunate to have one given to you. I got mine as a gift and because I was present at the purchase, I happen to know it cost $300.00! That was 5 years ago...and it continues to hold its value.

Secondly, it stitches like a dream. The machine itself is small and light weight and the threading of it is very straight forward. My machine is beautiful! It is black with lovely gold scroll work. And lastly, it brings me back to a simpler time and for some reason that brings me great pleasure!

    Enjoy!

They only weigh 11 pounds, so they're easy to tote for classes. Plus, they're cute!! I have a little re-painted red one that I won in a raffle (6 tickets for $5) She's a honey!

Take it!!! Don't even hesitate. They are known for having the best straight stitch, they also make a rather soothing sound as they hum along. Mine was my mother's so when I sew with it I daydream fond memories. They are also easy to take with to a class or on vacation. Enjoy your new baby.

Connecting Threads has it for 20% off. I want it but don't want to spend the $$ on it right now. I do have his book.

I printed my manual free of charge. Didn't have to pay a thing!
Who would have thought that you can print a manual for a machine that was made before computers wre available!

Several times on this board I have read people talking about buying a featherweight and how excited they were. I have an opportunity to have one given to me. Please tell me why you like your featherweight and why they are so popular. Thanks!
