Some of us "church ladies" started a quilt group a couple of months ago. One lady is an "expert" quilter that has all sorts of helps and short cuts. We work at our own speed. All started with the same quilt block pattern and some made table runners, table cloths and some are doing regular size quilts. It has been fun. It is a small group, about 10 or 12 and we are about to start working on our own projects. I think it really fun to get to gather with a group of quilters to work on projects, than to sit and home and quilt (and yes, a couple of them have small kids), the kids have videos to watch, but mostly the run around the room we are in and play and intertain us. We meet every Thurs morning at 10 and go to noon.

I joined the FWSQ last August on the QB board and have enjoyed everyone's help and suggestions. The goal was two blocks a week and we finish next month.

If you have EQ7, they have inexpenive disk, you can order through Amazon that is worth every penny. I kept a lot of notes in my book. Ended up doing a king size...145 blocks. Blocks are posted every Wednesday in BOM section. Check out how different the blocks look from each of us. I think they were all the greatest group to work with. And Anne was a wonderful leader.

Sounds like fun and the cost is reasonable.

I paid my $30 today and picked up my official Farmer's Wife Club materials at my local quilt shop. The book was in there, of course, but a little bonus was this cute jar full of buttons! How cool is that? The little pamphlet in front is our passport. It has several blank pages stapled in side and you get a stamp each time you come to the meeting. That stamp qualifies you for the 6 fat quarters for $10 and another "mystery discount" that will be available during the time of the meeting only.

I'm so excited! This little shop goes above and beyond each time they do anything.
