What a great deal. The fabric looks so lovely.

Try pinwheels with the gingham. I did one with repo 30's prints and it turned out really cute. If you have to you can sash between blocks to make it larger.

I embroidered 9 or 12 nursery rhyme quilt blocks and used gingham between for my oldest daughter who is 37 yrs. old and she still has it. I saved it. Back in that time I didn't know what I was doing as all I sewed was garments. I used an old blanket and in 1973 I used a brushed nylon fabric for the backing. 10 or 11 years ago when she was pregnant with her first child, I I found it, took it apart as I had tied it and replaced the batting and the backing. It looks good as new and she loves it. She now has an heirloom to pass on to her children. The sad part is I had 3 children after her but I was too busy that I never made them a baby quilt. I am making up for it now as all my grandbabies get one from me and since MY mother also quilts they get one from her too.

Thanks this is a cute idea, I inherited some ginghams with poly in them and was wondering what to do.

What a deal! Be sure to wash it all before you begin. You may want to separate the "nicer" fabrics into a special stash and use the lesser quality fabric in charity quilts, drag-around quilts, etc.
You are very fortunate to have found such a treasure!

Thanks everyone for the kind suggestions and good comments. Any other ideas for the bandanas? They are a bit thinner than regular quilting cotton.

Great find! You could use the bandannas to make those cute string backpacks.

You could apply an iron on interfacing. There is a woven one that helps give the fabric some stiffness.
    What a find! Have fun!
