So I am trying to teach myslef machine applique.
To start, I am bringing my bobbin thread up and using a blanket stitch, but I am having trouble on how to finish the stitch, that very last stitch is not looking pretty after I cut the thread, what do I do?
    :( :?:

I think it's just practice, but I would leave your end tails long and hand stitch them in, you have more control that way :D

I have been told that just like with machine quilting, you can turn your stitch length down very small and almost stitch in place for a few stitches and it will lock it. Someone please correct me if this is wrong!!

I use the "fix" option on my machine, so that is probably the same thing as doing up & down in the same spot, then I pull the threads both through to the back & clip them

I am going to practice the blanket stitch on my machine this week.

Since I have not ventured in this area prior to today, I am especially thankful for the question posted and the informative reply by more than one quilter :)

    Piecefully yours,
    Kay Susan

    Same :-)

A couple of stitches in the same place, then through to the back and clip.
