    Default Machine needle threaded?

My eyes aren’t that good at threading needles on my sewing machines and I have two that don’t have automatic threaders. Does anyone have a favorite tool they use for threading machine needles. It is taking me a while to thread my featherweight and treadle machine. Thanks for your help!

A tip----cut the thread at an angle before you start trying to put in needle--helps me a lot.

I have been looking into this for my mother because she is also having trouble threading her needles. There is a self-threading sewing machine you can buy that is made by Schmetz. There is a little slit in the side of the hole. That you can slide the thread into if you Google self-threading sewing machine needles you can find them at Amazon.

I use the one that looks like a bird. It works fine for my Featherweight.

I like the little humming bird needle threader, too. https://www.amazon.com/Dritz-270-Hum...s%2C145&sr=8-2

Sorry I can't seem to cut and paste a photo this morning. I use the needle inserter and threader on my serger and have great success.

As I quilt and from time to time I have to knot the ends and bury them. Trying to get 2 or more threads thru the needle eye can be tricky but I found if I fold the ends over and push the looped section thru the eye, I have a better shot at getting it to go thru. It never fails how the thread ends like to unravel on you and doing it this way eliminates those unravel ends........at least for me.

I find it’s easier if you take off the foot, but on some machines that add enough complexity that it’s not worth the effort.
