i have the babylock jazz 2. It's a work horse and 12" throat. Lots of space for quilting.

I second the Babylock Jazz, 12" of throat space is wonderful.

I adore my Juki TL-2010Q! Had her for more than five years, sew almost daily, not one single issue.

I really love computerized sewing machines, but I wanted a good mechanical, too, for heavy canvas projects. I wanted the vertical, steel hook/bobbin system in mine, so I ultimately went with the Juki instead of the Jazz. But the Babylock Jazz 2 has some big advantages, like the 12 inch space and utility stitches. I think it is a of machine for the money, especially if quilting is a primary use.

I mentioned the Juki TL2010Q. There is a Brother that looks just like it, not sure of the name though.
