Lol yes Joy (my sister middle name) we looked twice.. My dh is helping me with the search.
guess I should have stated that the UFO I am working on is from a Precision Piecing class of March 2004 and we were making blocks from Marsha McCloskey's Block Party book. There are rotary cut instructions and also templates for the block..sometime we used templates and some times rotary.

These are the two blocks I made this week end-- Ohio Trails was pretty easy ..a 9 patch of 3-1/2" units...the Sawtooth Star was the flying geese one I had issues with, the flying geese units were 5 X 2-3/4 unfinished ..very tricky as you can see in photo, I will lose points. The last photo show blocks so far...need two corner blocks and one in 4th row... Then 10 alternate blocks to make a 5 X 5 flimsy.

I am enjoying working on this project again..glad I stumbled upon it...

Took today off from looking for those speciality rulers... still 107 degrees here..

Hope you find them soon! I had the same problem and finally corralled all that would fit into one of those large plastic project or scrapbook lidded square containers. My diamond wedding ring has been in a "safe place" for about 3 years. I know the room it is in but.......

Pretend that you have one in your hand and you want to put it away. People are very consistent. If you made a decision to put it somewhere once, you will make the same decision again. My last one was the color catchers. So I bought more and had some left over in my hand and I put them in the very same spot that the others were hiding.

I made an I Spy quilt about a year ago using 5 inch squares. Now, I wanted to make another and use some of the same I Spy pieces. (Most of them had started out as 10 inch squares.) WHERE ARE THEY? I've looked everywhere possible, or so I thought. Not in the place they are.

Oh, so I am not the only one with a quilting portal, where things fall into, never to be seen again!

This seems to be the same portal, where I will look for something, won't find it. Look in that SPECIFIC PLACE again and suddenly it will be there, as big as day.

I will go crazy looking for something, get DH involved, we will both look in the same places not finding it and there, suddenly, it shows up. We both look at each other and just scratch our heads. (Twilight Zone music now starts playing) Maybe it got Harry Potter's invisibility cloak put over it? (Twilight Zone music now fades out...)

Always remember that when you reorganize, everything goes missing because it has a new "spot." Hope you find them soon. When you do find them, put them in the first place you looked, because that's where you think they should be. :-)

I can use a tool, set it down & not even move from the chair & loose that tool! lol A couple times lately that has happened to me. I usually find it slid under the machine or under fabric or something but it is so frustrating. They will show up when you least expect them to. Sometimes it takes awhile though.
