Hi! I'm new to the forum but excited to talk with other quilters.

I went to our local quilt show and a woman who had fabulous quilts with lots of excellent applique on them, told me she used the Madeira applique method. She told me briefly how to do it, but now I can't remember.

Has anyone used this method or know how to do it?

Thanks! I will take a look.

Her applique didn't look like it had a satin stitch with it, though. It was completely smooth and looked almost sewn into the fabric.

    Thanks for the link.

That was a terrific "how-to" page. I'ts possible that I didn't notice the pin point stitching around her applique. I enjoyed looking around the website. Thanks.

Here's some more LBelle..you might even search in UTube to see if there are any hidden videos on this out there:)

    Go to: http://www.heritageshoppe.com/herita...20Applique.pdf

(where she claims pin stitching is supp. to be the same)

Here they are talking about Martha P. having a book on this! Might check your library for it...go to: http://forums.marthapullen.com/read....&i=3140&t=3140 to read more of their discussion.

    Here's some lessons at: http://www.ashleycaroline.com/sewing...entLessons.htm

It is pretty!:)I assume this comes from heirloom sewing? If you make some up, do share w/us! Skeat
