I joined the Quilters Club of America but that was because I wanted access to the QNNTV and before I found this site. Seems to me I can spend all the time I want on the internet on quilting sites for free. I won't be renewing.

I think this tall started with Kaffe Facet(sp) and is gaudy fabrics with so much flowers and design, your eye had no where to rest. Valorie Well's has the same style as do some others. They are all medium tomes even tho the fabric is busy. I won't buy it! As for patterns in magazines. All these patterns have been being published for years, it is the fabric that make them look different. I have started not renewing my subscriptions when they come due! Besides that they are starting to go to bi-monthly.Quilters newsletter did this when I had just renewed for 3 years, so basically I am getting half what I subscribed for. To me that is a ripping off of their customers. I also do not like the new format of their new magazine. So I will do my pattern looking online or look at my old magazines.

Like you, I have about quit buying the quilt magazines.....their focus is on the fabrics, not the designs. It's more like the fabric companies are running the business of making quilts. They will use an older pattern, use some new fabrics, and call the whole thing---modern, innovative, new, special designed...I'd rather find a good design, then use fabrics I chose.

I mostly like a pattern of somekind. I like color. But some fabric is down right ugly.

Try Quiltz in Phoenix. They have beautiful fabric and lots of 30's fabric.
