That is such a great idea. I have 2 4x8 foam board design walls that my DH made me. Do you think he would be upset if I asked him to make a roller one? I have to think about that for awhile!!!

I love the idea of the grid and the fusible etc... I got the roller/blind up [had son in law install it] and Im experimenting with some batting - had some high loft poly batting which I dont think I would use anymore [prefer the cotton blend better].. it may be too thick.. will see - will keep you posted.. thanks for all the great ideas.. I also checked the discussions from previous times when others attempted design walls..

Wonderful idea for the design wall flannel and I can plan on getting it after payday. I checked Cotton Club and had no problem locating the fabric.

Actually I have used flannel sheets, but the grid will be worth its weight in gold. Now to decide how I can mount this in my sewing area :-)

Again, many thanks for generously sharing ideas.

I was taught to use the back of a large cheap plastic table cloth. I tack it to one of the corragated folding cutting boards and the material will stick to it like magic with no pins. The table cloth with your design on it is easy to roll up to store or take with you. Also It can be laid flat on a bed to put you blocks on. I was taught that you should view you project as it will be used. Set you blocks hanging if it is to be a wall hanging and laying flay if it is to be a bed quilt.
