I have made 30 some ISpy blocks, with lots of texture, haven't sewn the blocks together yet and I'm thinking about adding a zipper, a 'secret' pocket and maybe a clear 'window'.

Any other ideas? He is only one year, but will grow with it.

How about a snap, you could check out the trims section and find some fun add ons.

Velcro and maybe a shoe string... Something that makes a 'crinkling' sound

I wonder if there would be a way to add laces. Two flaps with grommets and a lace sewn at the bottom. He could practice lacing and tying.

Maybe make blocks with simple shapes on them ---- square, circle, etc. --- and then have a matching square, cricle, etc. that he can Velcro off and on.

GMTA ... I was going to say velcro, snaps and shoelaces!

I'lll add a new one ... buttons with button holes to do up with them.

Someone suggested the circles and shapes for matching ... they could be with velcro or perhaps the buttons?

How about some animal shapes sewn together with just a little padding. They could be attached with velcro, or put into the pockets for storage and for play.

I also came up with the idea of making a simple apple shape and then a little rick rack 'worm' poking out.

Just thought of another one .... can you find those things that moo and squeek???? .... I think they can be purchased at Michael's and the like. Would be fun to sew them in, and then he's got something to squeeze for sound effects! :)

And people! .... one for your this wee man, and perhaps others in his life, ie Mommy, Daddy, and of course, YOU!!! :)

One of the blocks could be done to represent his home? Or perhaps do it as a bigger block in the centre of the quilt?

Shapes of cars, trucks, and other vehicles and pieces of equipment?
