Making it longer
#11
I'd consider doubling up the outer "ring" on the top and bottom. If you are mostly looking for it to be longer for tucking around the pillows at the top (sides and bottom all hang over the bed equally) then you could do this only at the top and add interest as what is going to show across the pillows. You could extend the pattern up farther and eliminate the "ring" part at the top too.
I made a king quilt that only had borders on three sides. I did not want the border to run across the pillows, but it looked great hanging right above the carpet.

I would appreciate your suggestions for making 'Autumn in the Southwest' longer. I love this pattern and have made it before but I want to make the king size and want to add 4-6 inches in the length. I can add a border to it, but I'm hoping someone can think of something else. It is the first pattern in the list under Free Patterns in the left sidebar. www.carterquilter.wordpress.com
