I use steel wool. It keeps my pins and needles sharp. I also make them in different shapes and put them in a basket on top of my showcase.I sell some for $5.00 and some for $10.00 depending on the size and decorations. They make really good craft fair items to make and sell, and don't take hardly any fabric and 1 steel pad. I wrap some batting around the wool pad to make it easier to bend and shape it.

Does anyone ever post a tutorial for a pincushion they've made. I want to make some cute ones but have not done that yet. Where does my time go?

Pincushions can be made in just about any shape. I've made Christmas trees and used beads to decorate them.They sold for $10.00. You can make Easter bunnies ,Valentine hearts,Halloween pumpkins. You can also use a peanut can and cover it with fabric inside and out. Then with the plastic lid use that as the base for your pincushion.Hot glue a piece of ribbon around the top of the can and you have a pincushion that holds your thread and a pack of needles.You can sell that for $15.00. I do and I sell them as soon as I put one on display.Use your imagination and you can make a lot of money for not much money at your next craft fair.

This was a great thread. I use wool or fiberfill and someties steel filings. I had to buy those but they are suppose to be really good.
