Default marie millers 'robbing peter' antique quilt

does anyone follow marie miller? she posted a picture of an antique quilt she had for sale. wonder how she got that little 4 patch in the center of each block? whether each of the 4 patches was made in strips, and then a bigger block sewed on to it? that is one beautiful quilt, and a lot like a jane quilt block.

Wow, I have been in this gals shop years and years ago. I go to Dorset fairly regularly but haven't tried to find her shop again. It was amazing the one time I was there. Now that I know she is still open, I will have to check her out again.

Regarding how it was made, I would bet the single contrasting square was appliqued on each block corner the same time the pumpkin seed shape was appliqued. Once the blocks were assembled they formed the 4P unit.

If I was hand piecing this, I would make the units/blocks, and then put the blocks together.

TY madpatter, that was the link. this time, when i went back and looked a much clearer close up image of the quilt appeared. it does look like she just sewed a square into the corners of each larger quilt.
