Default Martelli rotary cutters(question)

These cutters come in left and right handed. I have the smaller one in left handed and love it. I use 45mm blades. I found this bigger one at a thrift store last summer and does anyone know why it is bigger? It also is a left handed one. I got it for 2 dollars. Thanks

Does the bigger one take a 60mm blade? If so probably you can cut more layers with the larger one.

I think Annie68 is correct. You can see that there is a larger area for a blade and therefore will cut through more layers easier. Nice find for a great price!

I got the 60mm and love it, also left handed! I just received my 30" x 60" mat in the mail last nite, not even up on the table yet, can't wait! My Christmas present to me! I think (hint hint) I am getting the 45mm cutter from kids for Christmas, so I will be all set. I do love their products.

Heads up, their will be a 50% off sale the two days after Christmas (so says the store manager) and most everything will be on sale. Not the long arms, sewing machine or the big table, but all mats, templates, cutters, blades, etc. Worth the wait for the discount!

Yup, that's the 60mm version. For making longer cuts it's the only one to use. I use one for all my shop cutting and the Martelli blades seem to last forever. Good find!
