I have one and put my skeins of yarn in the sides and put playing cards, coasters in the drawers as I have it in my living room.

I bought one this past summer for $60. It needs to be refinished as someone tried and there are multiple various stain colors on the backside. I'll get to this in the spring. In the meantime, the two smaller drawers holds some of my embroidery threads for cross stitch and the larger drawer holds hoops etc. The end flaps holds my Aida cloth and pattern books.
Wish I could figure out how to add a picture, done it many times before, but it won't do it now.

Sandra, I put my knitting in those deep side things. I use the rest of it for cross-stitch.
I've never used it for sewing things but you certainly could.

According to an ad from a 1928-29 Sears catalog as seen at https://threadalongwithme.blogspot.c...g-cabinet.html the bins could be for mending or materials for clothing and other things including style magazines.
