This past weekend I had the golden opportunity to visit Mary Jo's fabric shop. I was in fabic heaven, it was hard to stay focused but I managed. On my next visit I will know what to expect and more money. This is a place I wish all quilter's could visit. :)

    http://maryjos.com/default.aspx/
It's in Gastonia, NC, about 30 minutes west of Charlotte.

It's a huge store, hasn't been renovated since 1970 (and looks it), but it's clean (even though it looks like a dump) and full of the most amazing textiles in every category - quilting cottons, silks, velvets, bridal, clothing, etc.

If you're passing by, it's worth the stop.

fabulous place. their prices average 20-25% less than LQS retail. (sometimes even less.) on top of those savings, if you buy a whole bolt of something, you get a discount.

they have tons of quilting fabs at their website, but even more in the store itself. :-)

my problem during both my visits there was that my brain froze. soooooo many choices!

I was fortunate enough to find this store several years ago but 600 miles is too far to go shopping now. I found fabric there that I'd wanted to match from a long time before. Miles of fabric. True Quilters Heaven.

Oh lucky you!!! Isn't Mary Jo's store fun? Always go with a specific list of what you want to purchase and the amounts you need. And plan a whole day if you can...lol.
My brain froze last time I went even though I had my list. I finally snagged another shopper who looked like a quilter, and she was. She helped me narrow down my choices. Love the fabrics I purchased there. Oh before you go empty out your bank account so you can buy all the fabric you want..lol.

I just ordered some chicken and chicks from there. Just now. It sure would be a fun place to visit with a giant credit card (prepaid of course!)

Do they have a web site that some of us not going to NC right away can look at? Thanks
