We won't post what DH is calling my stash!!!

As long as whoever you are communicating with knows what you are talking about - things are good.

When I was young, it was called material--my home ec teacher even called it material. I don't know when I started calling it fabric but now I seldom call it material...go figure!

I remember now, when we were young mom called it matterial. She still does, she called today from Virginia Beach, Va saying when she goes thru some old town there she's going to pick me up some "Material". She's visiting my nephew which is the Navy.

DH calls it cloth too. I call it fabric. DH works in construction and material is sand, gravel, rocks, etc. If you look on Craig's List, you'll see a category for Material - and it's not fabric! LOL

Then there is 'sewer'. When I read it, I know it means someone who sews. Not to DH! LOL

I used to call it material, but now that I'm sophisticated I now call it fabric. LOL. Just give me a large stash of either & I'll be happy.

"Material" sounds icky to me, but "cloth" reeeeally rubs me the wrong way, like nails on a blackboard. Go figure.
    It's definitely "fabric" for me.

Depends what context you are using it in. Most of the time I use the word "fabric".
