Whoever got them got a bargain. Roughly 60 cents per fatquarter. The ones in the first picture were Kona Bay, I know because I have some.
As for bidding on eBay 5 minutes is waaay to early. If you really want something you need to bid in the last 10 seconds and as BigDog said bid some odd cents not just whole dollars.

OK, Is someone really unable to take a total price and divide by the total number of units of 193 to get a unit price? I can see maybe being confused if a "Fat Quarter" was really a 1/4 of a yard...
BUT if YOU found this would you give the E-BAY ID OUT TO EVERYONE???
WHY do I think this is just one big "ad" for an e-bay sale, posted as such to get it in the non-classifieds area??

While I'm always the first to look for a conspiracy, I don't think there is one here.
The original question did not mention the ad, it was just asking a math question. Plus magpie is a frequent poster on these boards.
We can debate the mathematical level of difficulty of that question another time. ;-)
Did it drive people to the auction and possibly affect the bidding? Yeah. But I don't view it any differently than most of the other posts linking to great sales on other sites. Those sellers certainly benefit from the traffic.
I think all is kosher here (in this case).
However, if someone is really, really interested in bidding on a seemingly great auction deal, the advice NOT to share is pretty wise.
Until after you've made the score.
