I've only seen cones worn the other way; but in that case, transparency is important.

It does look more comfortable than the plastic ones, but I agree that the "donut" style would be even better.

Here are a couple of YouTube videos on how to make them. Perhaps they will help you fashion some, if you want to pursue that style.

My daughter's kitty is an incessant 'licker' and has had every kind of cone-of-shame imaginable. They finally ended up getting a small dog sweater and putting it on the cat. Worked pretty well to let some of her 'hot spots' heal.

The vet's office sent my Darby home from his dental with a cone. He had a fit and was banging it against everything. I got out the donut that I had from another dog's dental and it worked great. He didn't fuss with it at all. I'd check with the vet's office. And, yes, the cone in the picture is on the cat the wrong way.

Newbie here! I have a cat with very itchy skin who constantly scratches the hair off her neck to the point where she will bleed. She will NOT wear the cones. Lasts for a couple hours and she figures out how to wiggle out of it and then she runs off in a corner somewhere scratching her scabs off. I found the donuts recently on Amazon and she likes them MUCH better. Didn't even think about making my own, but would be super simple. I have a ton of old pillows I've been storing to reuse the stuffing...this would be a perfect project for that! A recovery suit with a turtleneck would be great too!

Have you taken the cat to the vet to find out the cause of the itching and get her more comfortable instead of just using a cone? Usually there's a reason animals scratch that much. One of my dogs has very sensitive skin and when his allergies are bad, he scratches a lot.

I tried to find a stuffed fabric donut cone for my dog and the pet stores only carry the plastic ones around here. I found one online but it looks like a flower.
