Because I buy more than I should on line, and a lot of pieces from Facebook or what is called "All or Nones", thought I'd show you what I do when new fabric comes into my sewing room. Purchased several packages of small hang tags (strings attached) and packages of tiny safety pins to mark my fabric with. On the tag I write the yardage amount, price paid, where I purchased it from, and on the backside of the tag, the name of the pattern or manufacturer.
At times I do sell off fabric that is no longer desireable to me and this helps me out in not having to remeasure.
Probably a lot of pro's and con's with this system, but for me it works!

Sounds like you have a good system to me!
I've never used FB marketplace. Do you do Paypal? I have a ton of yardage I'd like to get rid of.

This is such a nice, organized system. I've started trying to label my works in progress - I tend to not keep the pattern with them, and have to guess at it!

I'm way to lazy to do that. LOL I fold it and put it in the stack of like fabrics. I've never measured any fabric for a pattern, I go buy look. If it looks like 2 1/2 yards then I start cutting.

Those of you who use Crafttown Fabrics, can you tell me what it means when they say, "All or nothing"?

They have a special section of fabric...basic remanets. They might have a half yard, or even a quarter yard, sometimes more than a yard for sale. You have to buy all of that piece. These pieces they won't cut. Works great for scrap quilters or someone just collecting certain colors. It's the place I look for fabric first when shopping on line. Shipping is quick too.

Great tip! I know carpenters say, Measure twice cut once, I feel like as a quilter I measure a lot more than that!! When I had more fabric, I used to pin slips of paper with the yardage on the fabric, on the longer pieces.
