I would like to make lap quilts for residents in a nursing home. Some of them sit in recliners and some of them sit in wheelchairs. What size (measurements) should I use? Thanks for your help.

    Kathy,
I made some like that and I just used the baby quilt demensions. They don't like them real heavy but need something over the lap/legs/toes. I used flannel as the batting so that they wouldn't get to warm. This makes them easier to wash as well. OR you could ask the nursing home what size they'd like them to be.

    Hope this helps.

I had thought about making them the size of baby quilts. now that I know you made them that size, I know it will work. Backing them with flannel is a great idea. Thank you so much.
