There are many forums that offer free designs. As in all designs you should stitch them out on scrap fabric first. I get tons of free designs from SewForum.com. When I find one that stitches out good I tend to download that persons designs. You will have to join, but its free just need name etc. This site has been very helpful to me in offerring designs and answering many many many questions regarding emb. Hope this helps you.

I am really new at this embrodiery thing, even though I have had my machine for a couple of years now, I am trying to get going on the embrodiery part (been quilting instead)so I thank you for any great tips and ideas I get here!!!

There are tons of free designs to get online. I agree with the rest stitch a practice first. ask me how I know??? haha

Yes I know about the freebies also have bought a couple for specif things and they can add up!
I also have a dics with 1100 designs came with my janome just want something different.

I buy from Designs By Sick too. They have one page of their design groups on sale every half hour for $1 per set (about 10 to 12 designs). The page changes every half hour. They are very helpful and even talked me through downloading the first batch of designs that I bought from them. I don't have yearly or 6 month membership but the regular prices are low.
