    Default Memory Quilt Question

    A close friend and coworker is losing her partner to cancer. I would like to offer to make her a memory quilt from his shirts/clothing. I am unsure when and how to extend this offer. Any suggestions would be helpful.

    How many shirts would it take to make a large throw or twin size quilt? Also if anyone has preferred patterns for this type of quilt, please let me know. Thanks for your help.

    Sorry to hear about your friend's loss. No suggestions on how to approach her. I personally would offer after rather than before. If she's still working maybe you could just talk about recycled shirt quilts in general now, then make the offer later. As far as how many you need, there's the ever popular 7 shirt quilt:
